Does Angelina Jolie really want Anna Chapman to see Salt?
Reports surfaced today that Angelina Jolie is allegedly attempting to invite Anna Chapman — you know her: cute, in her late ’20s, probable Russian spy — to the Moscow premiere of “Salt.” Except that it appears the whole thing is untrue. The New York Post reported that Russian promoters of the movie are scrambling to track down Chapman, who is being debriefed and does not have access to a cell phone. The Post quotes a gentleman by the name of Igor Dubinin, who supposedly told the Russian Web site Lifenews.ru: “How are we going to look for Chapman? We have no idea.” Well, the Russian news agency Ria Novosti now says it’s all bunk. A Sony spokesperson told the agency that any stories about Jolie — who plays a suspected Russian spy in the upcoming film — attempting to invite Chapman are nothing but “tall tales.” Jolie will be in Moscow for the July 25 premiere, however. Chapman probably has other plans that night anyway.
