Does ancient greece relate to the issues occurring in Cyprus today?
There never was a question of use or abuse of power, by Greeks, if that is what you imply , simply because there were never any Turks in Antiquity in Cyprus. The island was 100% Greek speaking and influenced one, by the simple fact that Greeks were in origin the first inhabitants of it.The countless antiquities and artifacts found over and over the centuries verify that fact. During the centuries the island was the crossroads of many races, one of which was the Turks in a small minority, that eventually prospered , even more so under the English ruling of the island most of the past century and which resulted, the small minority to become a substantial part of the island. Conflicts between the two communities may had been unavoidable-look at the East and West Germanies- on account of different cultures and ways of living.
