There are new Foam type compounding and polishing pads on the market today. They will leave virtually no swirl marks if the proper compounds and glazes are used. Also use a buffer where you can control the speed of the pad running on your paint surface. 1000 to 1400 rpm is recommended for the new type foam pads. They are made by 3-M and Norton to name a couple. Check with your local bodyshop supply store and they can advise you.
