Does an organization have to score 100% to win?
No. Baldrige is not a test or audit. The Baldrige criteria help you identify and improve processes specific to your organization. The questions are mainly customer- and process-focused. You can ignore the ones that don’t make sense for your hospital (or that don’t make sense at all—there are a few, believe me!). Even winning organizations don’t come close to scoring 100%. One should note that Baldrige is not competitive, as in you don’t compete against others. You “compete” only against the criteria.
