Does an immigrant married to a us citizen qualify for citizenship?

0

Citizenship is earned. Once you marry you do not become a citizen, but you will get status to work and/or live in the country. It is very possible, however, that you will need to prove that your marriage is legitimate. You may have to produce wedding photos, invoices for things like your honeymoon, wedding dress, tuxedo, reception, etc… If you married for the right reasons, you’ll likely be given Legal Alien status. If you married for the wrong reason you will very likely be deported and deemed Persona non Grata. The citizenship issue is very separate and not instant. You will need to apply for citizenship once you have an Alien Status (legal to work, legal to stay, etc.).
