Does an employee continue benefits while on leave for involuntary active duty?
Yes. Vacation and sick leave will continue to accrue. Total State Service is credited and longevity is paid, if eligible. Retirement service credit is given if the employee returns to employment within the given timeframe, which depends on the duration of military service. Health insurance will be paid for 30 days after the employee is on involuntary military leave. The employee may elect to continue coverage by paying the full premium.
