Does an air conditioners compressor works on & switches off alternatively to maintain desired temperature?
The compressor is controlled by a thermostat that cuts out when the room temperature reaches certain low level, some 21 C in your case. The compressor goes to rest until room temperature reaches certain higher level, some 24 – 25 C in your case when the thermostat cuts in to bring the compressor in operation again and the sequence goes on.
