Does amylase use cellulose as a substrate? Explain?

0

No it does not because cellulose contains 1 to 4 beta glucose links whereas amylase can only work on 1 to 4 alpha glucose links such as those found in starch. Thus though both of these (cellulose and starch) are glucose polymers only starch can be digested by amylase.
