Does AMPCO METAL still use Copper Beryllium?
Yes, on some. For some critical applications, there is no option but to use the Copper Beryllium alloys, where the unique combination of properties makes worthwhile the precautions that have to be taken to use the alloy. AMPCO METAL will continue to offer some Copper Beryllium products, because we are in this business to provide a complete service to our Customers but we continue our efforts to offer our Customers safer alternatives. Nevertheless we will strive to persuade our Alloy Customers to use AMPCO METAL Bronze where there is no possibility that the product will not be fit for purpose. For the users of AMPCO METAL Non Spark, Non Magnetic Tools, there is no compromise necessary; AMPCO METAL Bronze Tools will perform equally with the Copper Beryllium alloys, without the risk.
