Does Amherst provide any software to students?
• Amherst provides free anti-virus software to all students (see “What about computer viruses?” below). • Amherst students may purchase Microsoft Office media for use on their personal Macintosh or Windows computers for $10. Office includes programs for word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and e-mail. If you’d like a copy before you arrive, print and fill out the online copy of the Student Acceptance Form and send it back to us. We will charge $10 to your student account and send you a CD after Saturday, July 1. • Amherst also has a suite of applications (including Photoshop, EndNote, and many others) that students can download onto their Windows and Macintosh computers from the network. These applications will work as long as you are connected to the Amherst Network. See our Software page for more information.
