Does America have a gun problem?
Yes! Far too many of the wrong people have them. The problem is with those in our government who want to address the problem the wrong way. They want to legislate “solutions” by marginalizing the law-abiding citizen from having firearms that they own for several reasons, including self-protection and the protection of their loved ones, should that necessity come to pass. In my view, if the government were bent on addressing the so-called “gun problem” they would legislate, and enforce, that any criminal convicted of a felony crime using a gun would be given the harshest of sentences. Problem solved! Like everything else, our “brilliant” politicians do everything BASS-ACKWARDS…EVERYTHING!
Yes and it is called gun laws. There are thousands of gun laws that restrict law abiding citizens but only a few that restrict felons. Law makers say they force restrictive gun laws on their law abiding constituents to help control crime. Yet cities with the most gun control laws have the most crime. Try this for size, in states that have laws to register firearms; the laws only affect law abiding citizens while felons are exempt. Why? There is already a law that prohibits felons from possessing guns. So if a felon registered a gun, that person would be admitting breaking the law and that would violate their Fifth Amendment rights. This allows felons to keep their guns to use on us. In effect, gun control is welfare for felons.
