DOES AMERICA HAVE A CLASS SYSTEM?

0

Class in America is complicated and not well defined. There’s economic class (wealthy — divided into Old Money and New Money; Middle Class — Upper, Middle and Lower divisions; and Lower Class — working poor, poor, and welfare). Almost everyone identifies themselves as Middle Class. There’s also class based on what you do or did: blue collar, white collar, pink collar (traditionally female), knowledge worker, leisure class (wealthy non-worker). We like to think that people can move up from the class they were born into, it’s the American Dream.
