Alternative Education students receive instruction based on district-adopted courses of study and standardsbased textbooks. Instruction is differentiated to meet student educational goals. The program is evaluated via the Alternative School Accountability Model (ASAM). ASAM has been adopted by the California Department of Education (CDE) and uses standardized test scores, attendance and credit completion to create a matrix of alternative schools.
