Does Altera support migration of Cyclone III FPGAs to HardCopy ASICs?
There are no plans to support a migration path from Cyclone III FPGAs to HardCopy ASICs. The Cyclone III architecture has already been optimized to provide the lowest-cost implementation for these densities while offering faster time to market. Moving forward, Cyclone III FPGAs and HardCopy devices will complement each other perfectly, because HardCopy devices will support densities that exceed the range of Cyclone series FPGAs, providing you with access to cost-optimized solutions across the entire density spectrum.
