Does Ally Capellinos style work at Debenhams?
The verdict We liked: the black mac with red lining, the black and cream striped jumper, the halter-neck dress with buckle trim, the black suit jacket Rather than try and replicate her style with inexpensive fabrics – as was apparent with Tristan Webber’s collection for Debenhams – Lloyd has instead opted for quality wools and viscose mixes which give the collection a real designer feel. Her style has been adapted for the high street market rather than offering a water-down version of her trademark look. Each piece appears to have been thoughfully chosen with an eye on real women’s needs and there were some excellent pieces that would fit seamlessly into any modern working wardrobe. One negative is that the sizings varied greatly as is often the case on the high street. Subtly fashionable and extremely wearable – with plenty of designer-style details mixed in – this is one of the more successful designer/high street collaborations in recent times.
