Does advertising / marketing benefit in a recession ?
Absolutely does! The two best times to advertise are… When the economy is booming, as you want to grab as much of the ‘good time’ as you can… and when the economy is weak, as you NEED to spread the net wide to grab what little business is out there. The only difference between the two scenarios is that in good times you can afford to have ‘extra’ advertising like business card dispensers and police ‘booklets’ etc, but now you should put as much as you can afford into advertising that gets good return on your investment and puts you infront of as many potential customers as possible. Businesses that advertise through a recession come out the other side stronger and ahead of the competition that stopped or downsized their advertising.
