Does abortion lower the child abuse rates?
In the UK recently there have been quite a few cases of child neglect/abuse. I don’t have any statistics, but it doesn’t seem like child abuse rates have decreased at all since abortion was legalised, and there are still many children living in poverty. Abortion may actually have a detrimental effect on children and increase child abuse, because it devalues human life in general and puts across the idea that children are disposable. There’s no guarantee that the people who choose to have children will make good parents, and those who choose to abort would have been bad parents. I think “every child a wanted child” was just an excuse… the modern women’s rights movement cares about nobody but (certain types of) women. Interesting articles! Edit: There are lots more babies killed by abortion today than were killed by infanticide or abandonment in the past.
