Does a workplace supervisor contributing to the training and assessment of trainees in the workplace have to hold the vocational competencies?
Yes, if the RTO is relying on the workplace supervisor to deliver/assess the units of competency and the RTO does not have the staff with the vocational competencies or the opportunity to deliver them in their own right. In these situations it is the RTO’s responsibility to verify and record the workplace supervisor competencies as part of the assessment arrangements.
