Does a woman who has never had sexual intercourse still need a Pap test?
One of the risk factors for cervical cancer is the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). This virus can be spread not only though sexual intercourse but also through intimate genital contact. If a woman has not had sexual intercourse but has had intimate genital contact with one or more partners then she should discuss with her doctor or nurse whether Pap tests are needed.
