Does a viatical settlement provider or broker already licensed in Minnesota need to file a new license application?
No. A currently licensed viatical settlement provider or broker whose Minnesota license expires on February 28, 2010, should wait to apply for license renewal using the license renewal application that will be available next year. Please note, however, that viatical settlement contract forms and disclosure statement forms must not be used for transactions initiated on or after August 1, 2009, until they have been approved by the Department of Commerce.
