Does a Toyota MAP platinum extended warranty cover serpentine belt tensioner? Struts?
The warranty for your serpentine belt & tensioner, as well as your front struts are covered under Toyota’s Limited Warranty. This means both are covered under Toyota’s Warranty for 3yrs/36,000 miles, whichever comes first. Your extended warranty, however, should cover both of these items, less your deductible (if you have one, with your platinum coverage). If your serpentine belt tensioner needs to be replaced, you should get the serpentine belt replaced as well. A worn belt tensioner causes excess wear on the belt.
