Does a SPARQ Score help the recruiting process?
A SPARQ score is a minor step in the recruiting process. It is an indicator of athletic ability, and will be used as such by colleges. If you score very high on the SPARQ scale, you will receive more attention in being evaluated. There have certainly been athletes recruited almost exclusively based on their ability to stand out at the combines – without them having to ever prove they are good football players. If you score very low on the SPARQ scale, you will be down-graded in evaluations and quickly rejected. Standing-out at the skill part of the combine can be very beneficial.
