Does a senior officer countersign the valuables register?
Items of value were recorded in the valuables register and passed to a senior officer who countersigned the register. However the register was left with the senior officer without waiting for a signature. Other staff involved in the post opening process confirmed that the register would always be left in the senior officers room without waiting for a signature regardless of whether they were present or not.
