Does a school or district that wants to connect to CEN have to change its IP Addressing scheme?
Schools do not have to change their IP addressing scheme, however certain features of the content filtering system may work better if the school adopts the States recommended address ranges for each district. (Coming Soon Link) Schools that are using IP address space from a commercial ISP may need to relinquish that space to the ISP when service is discontinued. The State will work however with districts to assure that the published Internet Domain Names that a school may use are retained regardless of what address space is assigned.
