Does a review panel provide more opportunities for the public to participate in an EA or obtain information?
A8. Under current regulations and procedures, it is unlikely that the public would have more opportunities to participate beyond what is typically given during a complex screening or a comprehensive study. A typical review panel involves the public on two occasions: during the development of the EA Guidelines, and during public hearings on the proposed project. These opportunities are similar to those provided for screening-level EAs by CNSC personnel and Commission Tribunal hearings. Find out more about how to participate in a CNSC EA.
