Does a rapist have any “parental rights” if they impregnate a woman?
It does depend on the state but I know for a fact some states have granted visitation rights to the rapist father. In one case I recall reading, the mother had to bring the child to the prison, essentially forcing her to confront her attacker on a regular basis and relive the trauma each visit. Ridiculous if you ask me. I guess the upside is you can file for past due and continued child support when he gets out.
