DOES A PERSON NEED A ROAD BIKE, OR DO SOME RIDERS USE MOUNTAIN AND/OR HYBRID BIKES?

We see more and more hybrids every year. My personal opinion is that BRAG is easier if you use a road bike with skinny tires because it has less road resistance. And road bikes tend to be lighter weight than fat-tire bikes. Those with mountain bikes may want to put slicks on their bikes.
