Does a PCIe 2.0 x 16 video card fit into a PCI(e) x 16 slot?
Yes a PCIe 2.0 x16 video card is compatible with the PCIe x16 slot. However you may face a performance decrease compared to the claimed performance specs (frames per second). This is because PCIe 2.0 allows more electricity to flow to the GPU without an extra power cable. Also, PCIe 2.0 has more than double the transfer speeds compared to PCIe 1.0. If you are considering doing a encoding system, you may want to upgrade to a Core i7/DDR3/PCIe 2.0 motherboard as the core i7 920 has a low price for its performance. Also DDR3 prices are dropping pretty low, in some cases getting close to DDR2 prices depending on the type and brand. With i7 and DDR3 you get triple-channel RAM, which is a lot faster than dual-channel. Also, you will be taking full advantage of what the PCIe 2.0 video card has to offer. PLEASE NOTE: If you are trying to run more than one monitor with more than one video card, currently, you can only do that with ATI’s Radeon 4xxx series video cards. However you cannot run mul
Yes, a PCIe 2.0 x16 card will obviously fit in a PCI(e) 16 Slot cuz both are the same thing. -E8400 is better out of the others cuz this ones cheaper and more popular -over-clocking means increasing the stock clock speed say from 2.6Ghz to 3.0Ghz of any processor from Bios settings or any software. -ur power supply is 250 so u should get a 500 watt or more -if it says 2gb of ram expandable to 4gb and u want more than 4gb then u gotta change ur motherboard also to put more ram say 6gb or 8gb or else u will have to put 2gb more and use upto 4gb. -the ram is not limited by the processor, it is limited by the motherboard, so u dont need to change processor to have more ram but change motherboard to do so. -if u are upgrading to any operating system make sure they r 64 bit rather than 32-bit cuz 32bits only support upto 3.5 or 4gb of ram and 64 bit supports upto 128gb !!!
1.0,1.1 pci_e slots are backward compatible with 2.0 so it doesnt matter, you can use a new card on that board…and you will lose close to no performance…its so little you wont know it…. power supply of 250w wont run much today…maybe a hd 4350….if you could i would upgrade the psu to at least 400w…you can run a lot cards then with know worries…. the e8400 is a great cpu…to get the 8500 or 8600 your just paying for more clock speed and its not worth it…3.0 ghz is fast enough…. you have 2 gigs of ram which is expandable to 4gigs…so you can add 2 more gigs of ram if you wanted to…it a motherboard limitation not the cpu…even if you change the cpu you cant go higher than 4 gigs…and 4 gigs is plenty of ram to have… good choice upgrading to window 7….heard good things about it so far…. you might be able to run this hd 4670 on that psu…it need 18amps on the 12v rails to run it…check your power supply for the readings…there will be a sticker on the front o
