Does a patient who lives outside of Winnipeg pay the same rate as someone who lives in Winnipeg?
We have three rates which are charged and those rates relate directly to where the patient resides. If the patient resides in Winnipeg, he or she is presumed to be paying both municipal and provincial taxes so the rate is the lowest. If the patient lives elsewhere in Manitoba, they would not be paying City of Winnipeg taxes; therefore, we charge a higher rate, and for those who do not live in Manitoba and pay no taxes within the province, we charge the full cost of providing the service.
