Does a parapsychologist have a recognised qualification ?
Not everyone who describe themselves as a parapsychologist. There are some genuine academics who make a scientific study of belief in the paranormal. Dr Susan Blackmore is an excellent example; she is a highly respected psychologist and academic who held the chair of parapsychology at the University of the West of England. However, there are many people out there who have no appropriate qualifications and who interpret ‘parapsychology’ to include any and all activities that could loosely described as investigating the paranormal, so you have real woo-woo merchants, credophiles who have totally bought into belief in ghosts goblins and UFOs, who describe themselves thus.
