Does a non-functioning or diseased gallbladder show up on an ultrasound?
Usually, a diseased gallbladder is easy to spot. However, under some circumstances, it isn’t. Your experience has to have been awful, and we deeply regret it when such things happen to our patients. We do take note of such instances and we do make sincere efforts to lessen the frequency of such occurrences. But there will always be some level of risk: we’re human and the body is a profoundly complex thing. There will be errors in the future. You, and we, have to take it on faith that we in the healing professions will do everything we can to lessen the frequency of error. Your best defense is to learn all you can about how to maintain your good health and to seek help when it becomes necessary.
