no they don’t go out of date, its only new helmets that have to meet the new standards, its like the crap if you knock or drop it you have to replace, mcn had tests don on a helmet that had been drooped & knocked it still passed the same tests as a new one, i put mine on because i have to by law not because of safety or choice,
