Does a Medi-Cal provider group need to register their rendering providers’ NPIs or the Physician Assistant’s (PA) NPI?
Rendering providers must register their own NPI with their individual Medi-Cal provider numbers. NPIs for PAs and any other Non-physician Medical Practitioners (NMPs) that work under the group can be registered under the group or the supervising physician using the NMP NPI Information box. Their license numbers must also be entered.
