Does a laptop with integrated graphics run extremely slowly when playing games or videos?
Hello! The answer is quiet straight forward: A laptop with integrated graphics card ‘shares’ the main memory for the graphics card (it uses the main memory to use for the graphics card). The disadvantage is that main memory is scaled down by the amount the graphics card uses AND most importantly: The shared graphics card memory runs at FSB (Front Side Bus) speed (LAPTOP mainboard speed) which is very slow, compared to dedicated graphics card which uses an own clock provider. Advantage of shared memory is money saving, else it is only a disadvantage if you play graphic intensive games. hope it helps…
