Does a higher RAMDAC speed on graphics card make games go faster?
None of these guys know what the heck they are talking about. RAMDAC has NOTHING to do with how fast a game will run on a video card. RAMDAC = RAM digital to analog converter. It converts the video signal from digital to analog for output to VGA. (VGA SIGNALS ARE ANALOG.) If you are outputting your video on DVI it stays digital from your card to the monitor, and bypasses the RAMDAC altogether. A faster RAMDAC simply allows a video card to display higher resolutions through VGA, which is becoming increasingly unimportant as high resolution LCD flat panels above 20″ are usually equipped with DVI anyway.
