Does a Fire worshipper see a path in the Grotto of Despair?
No. Parties that have no Earth, Air, Water or Darkness followers are at a great disadvantage in this particular underworld. They wander lost for a long time, encountering the denizens of the Grotto until the narrator feels pity for them and allows them to encounter the Thatched skull. Alternatively, a submissive Saranakt will fly, walk or swim the appropriate path with only minimal encouragement from the whip.
