Does a customer have to present identification in order to recycle and receive payment?
Obtaining identification from a customer when writing a Purchase Ticket is standard practice in the recycling industry. The State of Ohio has legislation on the books that, when passed, will require a formal ID when recycling any renewable resource. The reason for an ID is solely used for redemption purposes and NOT for generating any tax liabilities. To date, ALL monies received by customers are TAX FREE DOLLARS.
