it really depends on what you’re using the computer for if you are using the computer to type papers and documents, surf the web, check email, and play more basic computer games 1GB of RAM and 2.40GHz is plenty fast if you are a serious computer gamer or heavy computer user (editing videos, multimedia stuff, etc.) 1GB of RAM and 2.40GHz will feel slow to you.
