Does a computer have to keep track of everybodys domain names?
The Internet host computers that host and track the domain name actually use a numeric addresses for the domain name (e.g., 209.210.33.199). Thus each domain name within the system has a unique numeric address. It is not necessary for the owner of a domain name to know the numeric equivalent because the Domain Name Servers (DNS) performs the task of equating the name to a numeric address.
