Does a car air conditioner suck atmospheric air?
Most car air conditioners have an air intake so that atmospheric air is drawn in (with ot without being sucked in by a fan). This air is then cooled (or heated) to the required temperature. In addition, most air conditioner systems have a “recycle air” system where it will close off the atmospheric air and cool (or heat) the internal air of the car. This can be selected when required (or kicks in automatically) and allows more rapid temperature changes and is also useful when the external temperature is very different from the internal temperature as, for example, the already-cooled internal air can be cooled even further rather than cooler hot outside air.
