Not servicing a transmission is a very bad idea. Advice like this come from people that mean well but have no idea how or why you need servicing. They use the same kind of logic that says that when I wore my red shirt it rained all day so I wear my red shirt to make it rain. To answer your question yes they do have bands. You can check this out for yourself by going to the local library and looking at an automatic service manual for your Dodge. It will even give you the information needed to properly service the transmission. So you don’t have to take my word for it you can look it up yourself. And I never let anyone work on any of my vehicles that can’t correctly answer simple questions that I get from the manual. So the use of the manual is a very good way to see if the guy with greasy hands is a monkey playing in grease or a mechanic that knows what he is doing.
