Does A 13-Year-Olds Viewing Gay Websites Mean That He Is Gay?
Question submitted April 23, 2002: My younger brother is 13-years-old and has discovered the joys of online pornography. He lives with my 21-year-old sister and has little parental supervision. We are very close (I am currently away at school) and we discussed it. I said that it was perfectly natural –although, not a good thing– that he would be interested in sexuality considering his age. He voluntarily expressed that he thinks it is wrong for him to continue surfing the Internet for online porn. Having grown up with three sisters and an absent father, it worries me that he frequents gay websites. He told me that he is going to stop going to the sites. That really made me proud of him because neither my sister nor myself advised him to stop it, although we did tell him that we knew (she confronted him and then consulted me).
