The plan of salvation extends to more than just “the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.” While the atonement (which is what you have described) is central to the Plan of Salvation, there are other significant parts as well. The Bible, unfortunately, is incomplete when it comes to clearly expressing the nature of the plan. You asking us to define it without referencing our scriptures is like asking a Christian to delete all but the four Gospels of the New Testament. Basically, the plan entails the following: * We existed prior to the life — Jeremiah was told that God knew him before he was ever in his mother’s womb. * We came to this earth for a purpose — one of the great theological questions of all time is “Why are we here?” The Bible fails miserable to adequately respond to the question.
