It depends where you work and what you do. I work in an office and I have a pierced tongue. There is no problem with it. My last job, I couldn’t wear the piercing to work; the job before, no one cared that I had it (all office jobs). I have a friend with a pierced eyebrow and a tattoo on her forehead and she worked at a big-name medical insurance company with no problem. She also has a large tattoo on the back of one hand–all very visible. I have a tattoo but most of the time it’s hidden (unless I wear something with a low neckline in back–it’s at the base of my neck). I’m getting another one, but it will be on my calf, also not easily visible. Tattoos and piercings are becoming more acceptable, but there will always be some companies and types of businesses that don’t allow them. Even though I have piercings and tattoos, I don’t universally like them all. I don’t like tattoos on the side of the neck, for instance.
