Do you think the Public School system is doing a good or bad job educating our children?

The public school system is failing for four reasons (probably more, but four big reasons that I can see): 1. Schools are not allowed to discipline a student. When spanking and other forms of discipline were allowed, a child learned better between right and wrong. 2. Religion was taken out of the public schools. When each school day used to start with a prayer, we had a better chance at spiritual guidance and a better chance or learning morality. 3. Many people are leaving the teaching profession and accepting better paying jobs in the public sector. This forces schools to hire less qualified and less experienced teachers. 4. Parents are expecting schools to teach the children everything they need to know. All most schools seem to be teaching are scholastic subjects. It is still up to the parent to teach the child manners, courtesy, moral issues, common sense, self-esteem, fairness, cooperation, and many other things. Many teenagers and young adults are dissastified with the world and
