Emotionally, I found the movie almost unbearably sad. Specially the storyline involving the mexican characters. I’m from Guatemala so I know some people that have had awful experiences while trying to illegaly enter the U.S. Taken only in filmmaking terms I guess it’s a little too script-heavy as all Gonzalez IƱarritu’s films. Nonetheless, I think it’s very interesting as it dealt with prejudice, misunderstandings, racism (thus the name) in an intelligent, thought-provoking way.
