Divorce laws are not harsh, not nearly as harsh as they should be! People can divorce for nearly any reason they want. Only a few states impose a separation or legal separation requirement before actually filing for divorce, and all the rest allow no fault divorces. The reasons for a no fault divorce do not need to be proved, it cannot be any easier to get a divorce. This man was clearly mentally ill, his signs were most likely overlooked or ignored leading to this horrible tragedy. Divorce laws have nothing to do with it.

No, I think the fact that Bruce Pardo was a complete psychopath is what made him shoot his family. There is NO excuse for someone to do that.
