Do you think The Futureheads will be going in another decades time?
RM: I’d love to think so. There is a lot of music left in us. There are a lot of things we still want to try, a lot of things within the band that we could really go to town with. We’d really like to do an a capella record, or a rock opera like Tommy – something for the stage. We see this new record as the beginning of something new, it feels different this time, like it did in the early days. GR: What is holding you back from doing a rock opera or anything else? Money? Do you regard yourselves as businessmen now you look after your own affairs? RM: Yeah, we definitely do keep an eye on how we tour, what we spend money on. But we’ve come to really enjoy that element of doing this, it makes you think about things so much more. A lot of bands out there, and we were on of them after we signed to Warners, who are like spoilt rich kids.
