Do you think the film Walk the line was an accurate portrayal of Johnny Cash?

i disagree that it was accurate i have heard that even among his children there were disagreements about what was left in/out i think it painted a picture of him for a certain period of his life but i was looking forward to seeing how his life unfolded after the early 70s and was disappointed from that point of view i did feel it did portray a part of his life with some degree of accuracy but i think that it focused too much on his addictions and far less on his productive time and on his character development so basically from the point of view of a life long cashoholic fan – it was dramatic (and the songs were very well reconstructed too) but it could have focused on rather more of his later life than it did

I think it was because it went through his whole life. Some of things weren’t absolutely needed but still so important. It went over his whole life in a matter of hours. So yeah it was an accurate portrayal of Johnny Cash’s life.Phoenix did an awesome job of acting like him too.

I don’t think a movie can ever be entirely accurate. But I do know Johnny Cash was involved in the script process so there was a lot of realistic stories in it. But word for word I’m sure its not.

i don’t know how “accurate” the movie itself is, but i think joaquin phoenix did a very accurate job of playing johnny cash and singing.
