Answer Hello again John – I think it would work on Odo. Rojan indicated that the weapon somehow distilled biological organisms into their component molecules and, since the Changelings are biological, I bet it would work as easily on them as it did the crew of the Enterprise. I think the Great Link would distrust Data because he is a ‘solid’ and works among them and tries to emulate their behavior. In their own “world” their society consisted of them, the Vorta (their genetically engineered lieutenants) and the Jem’Hadar (their genetically engineered soldiers). Everyone else was not trusted because of their ‘solid’ nature. My guess is that the Founders of the Great Link would assume Data to be the equivalent of a “solid Jem’Hadar” or some such, i.e. a soldier created by the Solids to carry out their orders.
